From Gadjah Mada University : UGM and Udayana University Establish EU Information Center

No longer Gadjah Mada University and the University of Udayana will have EU Information Center (EUI). Establishment Eui at both universities are intended to provide information related to the European Union. Thus any publication issued by the European Union institutions can be obtained through the EUI. The existence Eui certainly very supportive role UGM and Udayana University to contribute to the further development of European studies in Indonesia.
The signing of the cooperation establishment EUI has been implemented in the Auditorium Rector of Udayana University, Denpasar, on 8 November 2012. Script signed cooperation Dean Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Gadjah Mada University, Dr. Erwan Agus Purwanto, M.Si and rectors as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University, Prof. I Made Bakta, SPPD the Ambassador / Head of EU Delegation to Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam and ASEAN, Mr. Julian Wilson. Also present and witnessed the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, and the Director of Inter Region Cooperation, Directorate General of American-European, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium, Dr. Havas Oegroseno.
Dean Fisipol UGM, Erwan Agus Purwanto stated there are currently 230 eui worldwide. Some are located in the region, namely the University of Cambodia, National University of Laos, De la Salle University, National Library of Singapore, and Chulalongkorn University. "Of course, UGM Eui standing and Udayana University will become the first in Indonesia EUI. Election UGM and Udayana University to host the EUI is strongly associated with the role and contribution of the two universities in the development of European studies in Indonesia," he said.
In a series of signing Eui establishment, Muhadi Sugiono, a lecturer of Department of International Relations Coordinator of European Studies UGM same time, the Institute of International Studies, Gadjah Mada University, delivered a presentation on Indonesia for the Study of the European Community (KIKE). KIKE an academic community to enrich the curriculum through the study of International Relations Europe. Through KIKE can provide policy recommendations in relation to the relationship between Indonesia and the EU. "KIKE, academics accommodate current European study of 20 universities in Indonesia, formed through a series of activities starting from the Convention European Studies in Indonesia in 2009 and 2012. Activities undertaken include scientific meetings, research and joint publications, as well as capacity building academic and curriculum development, "said Muhadi Sugiono.
At GMU, said Muhadi, activities related to the European study conducted by the European Studies Program (European Studies @ UGM), under the Institute of International Studies, Department HI, Fisipol. @ GMU European Studies organizes academic studies and studies policy-oriented. One study of the resulting product is an annual assessment of Indonesia-EU relations.
