Asia Pacific Downhill Challenge 2012

Specialized Asia Pacific Downhill Challenge 2012 held ready. Downhill Mountain Bike Championships will be held in Cikole, Tangkuban Boat, West Java, 17-18 November 2012.

Specialized Asia Pacific Downhill Challenge for the fourth time held in Indonesia. Formerly Mount Pinang Cilegon (2009), Songgoriti Batu Malang (2010) and Sebex Bike Park Sentul (2011) was the host.

A total of 260 participants from various countries in Asia Pacific, the United States, Britain and host Indonesia will be competing in the track along the 1.6 km. They will compete for a total prize cash of Rp150 million.

"All of this is to enliven our bicycling world. Encouraging our nation into a healthier nation by cycling. Through this competition so that we can improve the fairness of our nation known internationally," said Commissioner of United Bike as an organizer, Eric Tan.

Indonesia's representative in this championship is the one athlete downhill gold medalist in SEA Games 2011, Poernomo. Shown in the Elite Men category, Purnomo said he would try to look up at these championships.

"My toughest competitors from abroad. Hopefully later to win. Target course we want to give the best to the team. We met our competitors in Italy about two months ago," said Purnomo.

This championship itself received appreciation from the Executive Board of the Institute of Sport Bike Indonesia (PB ISSI). "This is a great event where the benchmark our athletes and the world. I hope we can membutikan athletes that they are the best," said Chairman PB ISSI, Edmound Simorangkir.

There are 14 categories that will diperlombakan namely: Man Elite, Men Expert, Junior, Sport Men, Master A, B, C, Master Expert A, B, C, Grand, Woman Open, Youth. (eh)
